There are a number of programs for children and youth with varying levels of skill. Children can start off with the basics and build on their skills as they become more comfortable with the game. Each program is designed with varying levels of difficulty and builds on lessons learned from the program before.
The following list are some current programs available at Kitchener Golf. Click on any of the links to learn more about the program.
You can now register online! You will be required to first register as a user and obtain a family PIN number that you can use to register for most City of Kitchener programming. For first time users, please register with us as a user to obtain a family pin number. For returning users, visit the webreg main page to register. You must have your family PIN number to register. These five-week programs for children ages 4-12 are perfect for introducing your young child to the game or to help re-enforce the fundamentals. The programs have starting dates in May and July and run for five consecutive weeks. The clinics have been divided into age categories - Active Start for 4-7 year olds and and Learn to Play for 8-12 year olds. Each junior clinic session includes four group lessons with other kids of similar age and ability. The final week of each session is a fun wrap-up tournament, with everyone involved (that means you too, moms and dads).

Kitchener Golf Academy is pleased to offer an introductory clinic that follows the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) pathway outlined by Golf Canada, for children aged 4-7. In a fun and creative learning environment, your child will learn to swing the golf club, chip, and putt, all while having the ability to make friends and have a good time. This outstanding program will be offered at the following starting dates and times.

The Learn to Play clinic also follows the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) pathway outlined by Golf Canada. These learn-to-play clinics will focus on developing all fundamental movement skills and sports skills. These sessions will focus on grip, stance, alignment, swing, putting, chipping, rules, etiquette and scoring, and will occur on our 9-hole pitch and putt course. This exceptional program will be offered at the following starting dates and times.

Once your child has been introduced to the game through one of our junior clinics, or if they have been playing consistently for at least one year, the bantam golf league is the next step for them. The program will focus on the fundamentals of the game with a llarge emphasis on "fun". They will have the opportunity to learn at the driving range, short game area, and on the course.
This 10 week program runs Saturday mornings from June 24 through Aug. 26 between 9 - 10 a.m. and consists of group lessons and on-course learning.

22 week program for 8+
The goal of this program is for the student to learn different aspects of the game, including etiquette, in order to gain competence and confidence, and lead students towards playing in an unsupervised group.
This 22 week program runs on Thursdays from 6 - 7 p.m. from May 4 - Sept. 28, 2017.

22 week program for girls 8+
The goal of this program is for the student to learn different aspects of the game, including etiquette, in order to gain competence and confidence, leading towards playing in an unsupervised group.

Season-long golf team
The golf team is for juniors aged 9-18 years who have a passion for golf and are looking to improve their game, compete with others, expand their social circle, and learn how to mentor new golfers. The team will be part of interclub competitions with several courses in the Waterloo region and Southwestern Ontario. Interclub competition fees are included in the registration fee. The competitions will vary based on the team member's age and ability.
Team practice, instruction, and play occurs every Saturday at 1 p.m. at Doon Valley golf course, starting May 6 - Sept. 30, 2017. Introduction meeting Sunday, April 30, 2017.
Team registration includes uniform golf shirt, range balls on practice days, and special discounted pricing on merchandise in the pro shop.
All team members are eligible for a junior membership at Kitchener Golf at a 40 per cent discount.
Team registration cost $395 per player (from May 6 - Sept. 30, 2017)
