Staff at Doon Valley and Rockway take great pride in the services they provide to customers. Their care and diligence has led to the following awards or designations:
2009 WestJet Up Value Award
The award recipients are chosen by thousands of WestJet guests who turn to up! magazine for vital destination information about places, businesses and events that deliver great value for the travel dollar. According to WestJet "the winners provide high quality and a unique travel experience that over-delivers when compared to other similar priced offerings. Simply put, the benefits and rewards of the travel experience are greater than the cost."
Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA) Women-Friendly Golf Course Designation
In 2009, Rockway was certified by the EWGA. A women-friendly course is one that encourages women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for fun. It treats women seriously and treats them the same as male golfers. To achieve certification a course must meet 10 criteria.
The EWGA a not-for-profit organization, was founded in the U.S. in 1991 to provide opportunities for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf. Sandra Post, a Canadian Golf Hall of Fame member, and Cheryl Bailey brought the EWGA to Canada in 1998. The EWGA now has over 19,000 members worldwide and over 120 chapters.
