Kitchener Golf Expectations During COVID-19

The safety of our staff and golfers are our priority. The best way to ensure Kitchener Golf courses are as safe as possible is for everyone to follow the new expectations, outlined below. We look forward to everyone’s understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please respect the rules of Kitchener Golf and follow the guidance posted in the clubhouse and on the course. Failure to follow the expectations below will result in players being asked to leave without a refund. 

Safety changes

  • The courses will remain open if Provincial and Public Health guidelines continue to allow it.
  • We will be increasing the frequency of cleaning in all areas, especially high-touch and high-traffic areas.
  • Extra hand sanitizer stations have been installed. Please use them before and after touching high-touch surfaces.
  • The Pitch N’ Putt, putting greens, chipping areas, and driving ranges are closed.
  • Physical distancing of at least of 2 meters must always be maintained. Use the footsteps on the pavement as a guideline for distancing. 
  • Staff will be monitoring the clubhouse and course to ensure physical distancing is being maintained.
  • At this time, there will be no tournaments, leagues or large groups.
  • Rakes, ball-washers and benches have been removed from the course.
  • The clubhouse is closed, except for use of washroom facilities. Rockway’s washroom (near Courtland Ave.) will be open. There will be no portable washroom facilities on the course, until approved by public health.
  • Washrooms are to have only one person in them at a time
  • Only one golfer is allowed in a golf cart unless it is being shared with a member of the same household.
  • Golf carts can be rented no later than 3:30 p.m. and must be returned by 8 p.m.
  • Push carts are available and are being sanitized between uses.
  • Club storage is not available.
  • Storm shelters will be closed.

 

Before you arrive

  • If you aren’t feeling well, stay home. We will be screening golfers on arrival and no person showing or feeling any symptoms of sickness will be allowed on the property.
  • All players must have a pre-booked tee-time. No walk-ups will be accepted.
  • No cash payments will be accepted. Credit or debit only, payable by phone or tap-card at the course.
  • Tee times will be at 12-minute intervals.
  • Groups will be foursomes. We reserve the right to pair up singles, twosomes and threesomes.
  • Names and phone numbers are required for all customers prior to arriving at the facility.
  • Water fountains will be shut off. Please bring what you’ll need to stay hydrated.
  • Arrive prepared with personal sanitizer and sanitizing wipes as needed.
  • No refunds or rain checks will be available once you have begun your round.
  • Items from the pro shop are available for purchase by phone and curbside pickup only. There are currently no returns or refunds.

 

When you arrive

  • You will not be allowed to enter the property more than 20 minutes before your tee time.
  • Congregating in the parking lot will not be permitted.
  • When you arrive, a greeter will welcome you, confirm your information, screen you for symptoms, and explain the procedures.
  • Physical receipts will not be provided but can be photographed through the glass.

 

On the course

  • Please do not touch the flagstick. There is a device in the cup that will prevent the ball from fully entering the hole. Please be careful when removing your ball.
  • Golf Ontario is encouraging golfers to walk if possible due to the many cart restrictions and limitations. You may want to consider a half set of clubs to keep the weight more manageable.
  • Playing through of groups will not be allowed.
  • Skipping of holes will not be allowed.
  • Bunkers are in play, but there will be no rakes. Your ball can be placed within one club length with no penalty.
  • Garbage cans will be removed from the course, please take all garbage with you when you leave.
  • In the event of inclement weather or an emergency, please leave the property immediately. No shelter will be provided on the course.

 

Food and Beverage

  • Food and beverage service will not be available when we open. Watch for more information in the coming days.

 

When you leave

  • Once finished your round, leave the cart in the designated area and proceed directly to your vehicle.
  • All golfers must leave the course and premises by sunset.
